API & data downloads

A free, read-only API with no key. Every figure links to its source and carries an evidence level (confirmed / announced / estimated). MW totals are floors: most facilities don't disclose power. Data as of Sep 29, 2026; the dataset refreshes weekly.

Machine-readable spec: /api/v1/openapi.json (OpenAPI 3.1). Responses carry ETag and Cache-Control. Send If-None-Match to get a 304 when nothing changed, and follow meta.next or Link: rel="next" to page through results.

Downloads on the site

“Download CSV / JSON” on the map, state, company, changes and near-me pages export exactly the current filters through this API. Every CSV row includes source URLs, evidence levels and as-of dates.

Capacity, status, permit, grid-request and construction changes over the last three years. A change means the same source reported a new value later.

Feeds

Atom feed of sourced changes: /feed.xml, filterable like /api/v1/changes (e.g. /feed.xml?state=TX&org=meta&level=confirmed).

Earlier endpoints /api/facilities (all rows, unpaginated) and /api/facilities/{id} still work. /api/routing estimates where an AI API request could be processed; it is an estimate, never a claim about a specific request.

License & attribution

Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0 for the compiled database; individual sources keep their own terms (see sources[].license).

When you publish anything built on this data, credit:

OpenStreetMap-derived data must stay under the ODbL when redistributed. Some grid-operator sources publish without an explicit license; we republish individual facts with citations. See docs/licensing.md and Sources & methodology.
