How the time-to-power window was estimated
Evidence used
  • Current stage: Operational (furthest stage with documented evidence)[1]
  • Stated date: Requested in-service date (NYISO 1670): 2027-02[2]
  • Aggressive date: The stated date is earlier than typical for the documented stage.
  • Required: 441 MW
Assumptions
  • From “Under construction”, large loads have typically taken 0.5–2 more years to first power (editorial range; see Methodology).
  • Stated dates slip; the window allows up to 0.75 years past the stated date at this stage.
  • The window is a range of plausible outcomes under these assumptions, not a forecast. It moves as new filings, queue updates or imagery arrive.
Window: H1 2027 – H2 2027

Utility, ISO and nearby assets are derived from the site's location. Proximity to a substation or line doesn't establish the interconnection; that needs a utility filing or interconnection-queue record. Queue requests are applications, not commitments — most never reach operation.

Timeline

Construction start: Jun 11, 2025[1]
First operational: May 31, 2026[1]
  1. Jun 11, 2025[1]

Land clearing begins for Building 1 (AKA CB3).

  2. Mar 2, 2026[1]

Building 1 appears to have a complete shell and cooling equipment. Building 2 shell is still under construction, but 17 cooling units are already loaded on the roof. The outline of Building 3 is visible at the foundation.

  3. May 31, 202649 MW facility power· 1 buildings operational[1]

Building 1 is operational. On February 26, Terawulf stated that CB3 was expected to be energized by mid-May 2026. A drone video commissioned from RAAD shows several cooling units operating on May 8. It's therefore likely that the building was fully operational around this date.

  4. Jul 23, 202649 MW facility power· 1 buildings operational[1]

Building 1 looks complete, consistent with it going operational back in May. Building 2 is mostly complete, with the row of backup generators on the east side of the building still being installed. Building 3 shell is complete, with rooftop coolers midway through installation, and no neighboring generators installed/visible yet.

  5. Oct 31, 2026Projected245 MW facility power· 2 buildings operational[1]

Building 2 (AKA CB4) is operational. On February 26, Terawulf stated that CB4 was expected to be energized by Q3 2026.

  6. Mar 31, 2027Projected441 MW facility power· 3 buildings operational[1]

Building 3 (AKA CB5) is operational. On February 26, 2026, Terawulf stated that CB5 was expected to be energized by Q4 2026. However, based on the pace of Building 2, and comparisons to other projects like Stargate Abilene, we think this is optimistic. We expect a 3-month delay past the end of Q4 2026 to get to full operational capacity.

  7. Jan 23, 2024[2]

NYISO load interconnection request 1670 filed (250 MW).

  8. Feb 2027Projected[2]

Proposed initial backfeed / in-service for NYISO load request 1670.
